We are OPEN FOR SCIENCE!
Welcome back to the new school year! After an extremely successful canoe trip and getting to know our new classmates, we've settled into our science classes. The 7th and 8th graders have been designing and setting up their plant experiments in the Ann Arbor Open school garden. They are studying factors affecting the growth of ryegrass, Lolium spp., a winter cover crop commonly sown by Michigan farmers. The experiments vary one factor between two rows to see if the growth of the ryegrass would be affected. Here are some photographs:
